we always need volunteers year-round at our annual fundraising events!
Send us an email if you're interested in helping out with planning any fundraising events listed on our calendar or getting involved with any of the special committees below including event-day volunteering. You may contact us by indicating which committee you are interested in joining.
Committees
AUTHOR'S WEEK
Works with reading specialists to select visiting authors to the school and coordinates presentation events for students.
CLASS PARENTS
Organizes class parents for each class and emergency dismissal phone chain. Assists teacher with class events
READ-A-THON
Organizes activities to get the children excited about the Read-a-thon. Collect minutes and money raised. Present at the opening and closing ceremonies.
5th GRADE
REPRESENTATIVE
Coordinates fundraisers and plans graduation related events during 5th grade.
BOOK
FAIR
Selects book fair vendor, prepares gym for event,
coordinates class
schedule & volunteers.
CARNIVAL
Organizes the fall
carnival, chooses theme and activities, seeks sponsorships and donations, and coordinates volunteers.
HARLEM
WIZARDS
Organize a night of basketball with the Harlem Wizards.

PICTURE DAY
Sets date with photography vendor, distributes order
forms and helps keep
organized on picture day.
HERITAGE
DINNER
Organize food, decorations and entertainment for the international dinner and cultural event.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Works with local organizations to provide donations of needed items. Encourages student participation in outreach.
GRANTS
Reviews and approves grants
requested by teachers.
FIELD DAY
SHIRTS
Manage order forms for field day T-shirts and distribute when they arrive.
HOSPITALITY
Plans the Holiday Breakfast and Staff Recognition Luncheon.
SQUARE 1
ARTS
Collects orders for supplies, tracks arrivals and distributes materials to teachers for the event fundraiser.
BINGO
NIGHT
Plans a fun bing game night for students and families, buys all snacks and calls
numbers at event.
